Titus 02: High Fidelity Christianity

"Not every one that saith unto Me, LORD, LORD, shall enter into the Kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, LORD, LORD, have we not prophesied in Thy Name? And in Thy Name have cast out devils? And in Thy Name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity"

The English-language word "fidelity" originated from a Latin word, fidelitas, that meant faithful - not as a state of mind alone, but as a way of life of being true to something or someone, without betrayal or perversion.

"High fidelity" is a modern-era electronics term that refers to fully reproducing what was actually recorded - without distortion or omission. The principle originated however with the Word of God in the Garden of Eden (see also Will You Return To The Tree Of Life? and Was The Garden Of Eden At Jerusalem?).

Notice the difference between the pure sound of the Word of the LORD and the twisted (see What Does Wicked Mean?) noise of the Devil's playback (see also the Fact Finder question below).

"2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." (Genesis 2:16-17 KJV)

"3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die" (Genesis 3:4 KJV)

The crystal-clear and perfect recorded Word of God was given to humanity as the basis of living a life that is truly faithful to the Creator (see also God, Who Created All Things By Jesus Christ and Eve Was Created From Adam; What Woman Was Created From Jesus Christ?). The Messiah made plain that distortions and neglect of His Word isn't faith - it's just noise that will, in due time, be silenced forever.

"7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 7:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it." (Matthew 7:13-27 KJV)

The apostle Paul (see Paul, The Apostle To The World) was a real person who taught real people (see The Men And Women Who Made It Happen). No one is yet perfect (see Perfecting Your Perfection). No one is yet without sin (see Christ Died For Repentant Sinners).

But everyone, in their due time (see The Harvests Of Salvation), is capable of being a "high fidelity Christian" ("sound in faith," verse 2 below) by allowing the true Word of God to be the sight and sound of their journey to eternal life: "Shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things."

"2:1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: 2:2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 2:4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 2:5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

2:6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. 2:7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, 2:8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

2:9 Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again; 2:10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

2:15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee." (Titus 2:1-15 KJV)
