Q. 39. What is the duty which God requireth of man?

A. The duty which God requireth of man, is obedience to his revealed will.[113]


[113] Deuteronomy 29:29. The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law. (신29:29 오묘한 일은 우리 하나님 여호와께 속하였거니와 나타난 일은 영구히 우리와 우리 자손에게 속하였나니 이는 우리로 이 율법의 모든 말씀을 행하게 하심이니라

Micah 6:8. He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? (미6:8 사람아 주께서 선한 것이 무엇임을 네게 보이셨나니 여호와께서 네게 구하시는 것이 오직 공의를 행하며 인자를 사랑하며 겸손히 네 하나님과 함께 행하는 것이 아니냐 

1 John 5:2-3. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. (요일5:2-3  우리가 하나님을 사랑하고 그의 계명들을 지킬 때에 이로써 우리가 하나님의 자녀 사랑하는 줄을 아느니라 하나님을 사랑하는 것은 이것이니 우리가 그의 계명들을 지키는 것이라 그의 계명들은 무거운 것이 아니로다


문39. 하나님께서 사람에게 요구하시는 본분이 무엇인가 ?

답. 하나님께서 사람에게 요구하시는 본분은 그 나타내 보이신 뜻을 복종하는 것이다.
      (신 29:29 , 삼상 15:22 , 미 6:8 , 마 28:20 , 눅 10:28 )
