▶ 천년 Millennium. 

This word signifies a thousand years, and usually refers to that period spoken of in Rev. 20. The first resurrection will have taken place before these years commence, the saints who have part in this resurrection will be priests of God and of Christ, and reign with Christ the thousand years. During that period Satan will be confined in the abyss, or bottomless pit. Rev. 20:1-6. These two facts prove that the millennium will not be brought about by any present or similar agency in connection with the gospel. Satan must be confined, and the first  resurrection must have taken place. See RESURRECTION. Other important events will also have occurred previously, namely, the judgements that must fall upon Judah and Israel before they can under God occupy the first place of earthly blessing in their own land, the nations being blessed through them. Jer. 30:4-9; Matt. 24:21, 22. Blessing will follow the judgements. They will not speak then of having been brought out of Egypt, but from all countries whither God has driven them. Jer. 23:5-8. The reconciliation of Israel will be "life from the dead." Rom. 11:15.

(렘30:4-9;  여호와께서 이스라엘과 유다에 대하여 하신 말씀이 이러하니라 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시되 우리가 떨리는 소리를 들으니 두려움이요 평안함이 아니로다 너희는 자식을 해산하는 남자가 있는가 물어보라 남자마다 해산하는 여인 같이 손으로 각기 허리를 짚고 그 얼굴 빛이 창백하여 보임은 어찜이뇨 슬프다 그 날이여 비할데 없이 크니 이는 야곱의 환난의 때가 됨이로다마는 그가 이에서 구하여냄을 얻으리로다 만군의 여호와가 말하노라 그 날에 내가 네 목에서 그 멍에를 꺾어버리며 네 줄을 끊으리니 이방인이 다시는 너를 부리지 못할 것이며 너희는 너희 하나님 나 여호와를 섬기며 내가 너희를 위하여 일으킬 너희 왕 다윗을 섬기리라

(마24:21, 22.  이는 그 때에 큰 환난이 있겠음이라 창세로부터 지금까지 이런 환난이 없었고 후에도 없으리라 그 날들을 감하지 아니할 것이면 모든 육체가 구원을 얻지 못할 것이나 그러나 택하신 자들을 위하여 그 날들을 감하시리라

(렘23:5-8.  나 여호와가 말하노라 보라 때가 이르리니 내가 다윗에게 한 의로운 가지를 일으킬 것이라 그가 왕이 되어 지혜롭게 행사하며 세상에서 공평과 정의를 행할 것이며 그의 날에 유다는 구원을 얻겠고 이스라엘은 평안히 거할 것이며 그 이름은 여호와 우리의 의라 일컬음을 받으리라 그러므로 나 여호와가 말하노라 보라 날이 이르리니 그들이 다시는 이스라엘 자손을 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 내신 여호와의 사심으로 맹세하지 아니하고 이스라엘 집 자손을 북방 땅, 그 모든 쫓겨났던 나라에서 인도하여 내신 여호와의 사심으로 맹세할 것이며 그들이 자기 땅에 거하리라 하시니라

(롬11:15. 저희를 버리는 것이 세상의 화목이 되거든 그 받아들이는 것이 죽은 자 가운데서 사는 것이 아니면 무엇이리요


The man of sin also must first be manifested, and, with the resuscitated Roman empire, be crushed. 2 Thess. 2:7-12; Rev. 13; Rev. 14.  From these, and from other particulars mentioned in scripture, it is clear that there will be a great and marvellous change before the millennium is established, and that change will not be limited to a spiritual change in man, as many suppose. The change will bring about a dispensation entirely different in character from that which now exists during the gathering out from the nations of a people for heavenly blessing. It will be characterised by a universal knowledge of Jehovah in relation to Israel. Jer. 31:34; Zech. 14:9. "All flesh shall know that I Jehovah am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob." Isa. 49:26. The Lord Himself will reign over the earth in righteousness, and all the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. Ps. 72:8, 17; Isa. 11:5; Isa. 26:9.

(살후02:7-12  불법의 비밀이 이미 활동하였으나 지금 막는 자가 있어 그 중에서 옮길 때까지 하리라 그 때에 불법한 자가 나타나리니 주 예수께서 그 입의 기운으로 저를 죽이시고 강림하여 나타나심으로 폐하시리라 악한 자의 임함은 사단의 역사를 따라 모든 능력과 표적과 거짓 기적과 불의의 모든 속임으로 멸망하는 자들에게 임하리니 이는 저희가 진리의 사랑을 받지 아니하여 구원함을 얻지 못함이니라 이러므로 하나님이 유혹을 저의 가운데 역사하게 하사 거짓 것을 믿게 하심은 진리를 믿지 않고 불의를 좋아하는 모든 자로 심판을 받게 하려 하심이니라



(렘31:34; 그들이 다시는 각기 이웃과 형제를 가리켜 이르기를 너는 여호와를 알라 하지 아니하리니 이는 작은 자로부터 큰 자까지 다 나를 앎이니라 내가 그들의 죄악을 사하고 다시는 그 죄를 기억지 아니하리라 여호와의 말이니라 

(슥14:9. 여호와께서 천하의 왕이 되시리니 그 날에는 여호와께서 홀로 하나이실 것이요 그 이름이 홀로 하나이실 것이며

(사49:26. 내가 너를 학대하는 자로 자기의 고기를 먹게 하며 새 술에 취함 같이 자기의 피에 취하게 하리니 모든 육체가 나 여호와는 네 구원자요 네 구속자요 야곱의 전능자인줄 알리라

(시072:8, 17; 8 저가 바다에서부터 바다까지와 강에서부터 땅 끝까지 다스리리니, 17그 이름이 영구함이여 그 이름이 해와 같이 장구하리로다 사람들이 그로 인하여 복을 받으리니 열방이 다 그를 복되다 하리로다 

(사11:5;  공의로 그 허리띠를 삼으며 성실로 몸의 띠를 삼으리라

(사26:9. 밤에 내 영혼이 주를 사모하였사온즉 내 중심이 주를 간절히 구하오리니 이는 주께서 땅에서 심판하시는 때에 세계의 거민이 의를 배움이니이다


The Spirit will be poured out on all flesh, and creation, now groaning and travailing in pain, will be delivered from the bondage of corruption. Rom. 8:19-22. "Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree." Isa. 55:13: cf. Isa. 41:19. Things and natures, most opposed and diverse, will dwell together in peace. "The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice's den."  Isa. 11:6-8.

(사41:19 내가 광야에는 백향목과 싯딤나무와 화석류와 들 감람나무를 심고 사막에는 잣나무와 소나무와 황양목을 함께 두리니

(사11:6-8 그 때에 이리가 어린 양과 함께 거하며 표범이 어린 염소와 함께 누우며 송아지와 어린 사자와 살찐 짐승이 함께 있어 어린 아이에게 끌리며 암소와 곰이 함께 먹으며 그것들의 새끼가 함께 엎드리며 사자가 소처럼 풀을 먹을 것이며 젖먹는 아이가 독사의 구멍에서 장난하며 젖뗀 어린 아이가 독사의 굴에 손을 넣을 것이라


There will be universal peace and blessing all over the earth: instead of the invention of weapons of slaughter, the swords will be beaten into ploughshares. Isa. 2:4. (사02:4 그가 열방 사이에 판단하시며 많은 백성을 판결하시리니 무리가 그 칼을 쳐서 보습을 만들고 그 창을 쳐서 낫을 만들 것이며 이 나라와 저 나라가 다시는 칼을 들고 서로 치지 아니하며 다시는 전쟁을 연습지 아니하리라 

Thus the kingdom spoken of in Daniel 2:44 will be established on earth by the God of heaven, and it will consume all other kingdoms. It will be the kingdom of God in power, and the Lord Jesus will be acknowledged King of kings and Lord of lords. He will first reign as son of David, the man of war, and then, when all enemies of His people have been subdued, as Solomon, the man of peace. (단02:44 이 열왕의 때에 하늘의 하나님이 한 나라를 세우시리니 이것은 영원히 망하지도 아니할 것이요 그 국권이 다른 백성에게로 돌아가지도 아니할 것이요 도리어 이 모든 나라를 쳐서 멸하고 영원히 설 것이라 

Death, though not destroyed, will be swallowed up in victory. If one should die at a hundred years of age he will be considered an 'infant.' Isa. 65:20. (사65:20 거기는 날 수가 많지 못하여 죽는 유아와 수한이 차지 못한 노인이 다시는 없을 것이라 곧 백세에 죽는 자가 아이겠고 백세 못 되어 죽는 자는 저주 받은 것이리라 

The throne of God and the Lamb will be in the new and heavenly Jerusalem, which descends from God out of heaven, and the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb will be the temple thereof. The glory of God lightens it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. The saved nations will walk in the light of it. Rev. 21:22-24. (계21:22-24 성안에 성전을 내가 보지 못하였으니 이는 주 하나님 곧 전능하신 이와 및 어린 양이 그 성전이심이라 그 성은 해나 달의 비췸이 쓸데 없으니 이는 하나님의 영광이 비취고 어린 양이 그 등이 되심이라 만국이 그 빛 가운데로 다니고 땅의 왕들이 자기 영광을 가지고 그리로 들어오리라

As well as being the fulfilment of all God's promises to Israel, the millennium will be a trial of man under entirely new circumstances. And no sooner will Satan, released from his prison, go forth to deceive the nations, than he will be readily listened to. They will be gathered to attack Jerusalem, but only to meet with their own destruction. Rev. 20:7-9.
