▶복음 Gospel, The,

εὐγγέλιον.  'Good news' or 'glad tidings.' Everything worthy of this title must come from God. It has not always had the same character. It was good news to Adam and Eve that the Seed of the woman should bruise the head of the serpent. Doubtless they believed it, for Eve said, when Cain was born, "I have gotten a man from the Lord." Gen. 3:15; Gen. 4:1.

(창04:01  아담이 그 아내 하와와 동침하매 하와가 잉태하여 가인을 낳고 이르되 내가 여호와로 말미암아 득남하였다 하니라

It was good news to Noah (when God made known that He was going to destroy all flesh) that he and his family should be saved in an ark, and that God would establish His covenant with him. Noah believed God, and was preserved. Heb. 11:7. 

(히11:07 믿음으로 노아는 아직 보지 못하는 일에 경고하심을 받아 경외함으로 방주를 예비하여 그 집을 구원하였으니 이로 말미암아 세상을 정죄하고 믿음을 좇는 의의 후사가 되었느니라

It was good news to Abraham, when called out by God to be blessed by Him, to be told that he should have a son in his old age; that his seed should possess the land, and that in his Seed should all the nations of the earth be blessed. Gal. 3:8. Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Gen. 15:6; Rom. 4:3.

(갈03:8 또 하나님이 이방을 믿음으로 말미암아 의로 정하실 것을 성경이 미리 알고 먼저 아브라함에게 복음을 전하되 모든 이방이 너를 인하여 복을 받으리라 하였으니

(창15:6  아브람이 여호와를 믿으니 여호와께서 이를 그의 의로 여기시고

(롬04:3  성경이 무엇을 말하느뇨 아브라함이 하나님을 믿으매 이것이 저에게 의로 여기신바 되었느니라

 It was good news to the Israelites, when slaves to Pharaoh, that God had come down to deliver them by the hand of Moses. They believed the good news, "they bowed their heads and worshipped." Ex. 4:31. But this was only a part of the good news to Israel; they were not only to be brought out of Egypt; but to be brought into a "good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey." Here alas, many of them failed; though this 'gospel,' as it is called in the Epistle to the Hebrews, was preached to them, it did not profit them, because it was not mixed with faith in them: they "entered not in because of unbelief." Heb. 4:2-6.

(출4:31 백성이 믿으며 여호와께서 이스라엘 자손을 돌아보시고 그 고난을 감찰하셨다 함을 듣고 머리 숙여 경배하였더라

(히4:2-6  저희와 같이 우리도 복음 전함을 받은 자이나 그러나 그 들은바 말씀이 저희에게 유익되지 못한 것은 듣는 자가 믿음을 화합지 아니함이라 이미 믿는 우리들은 저 안식에 들어가는도다 그 말씀하신 바와 같으니 내가 노하여 맹세한 바와 같이 저희가 내 안식에 들어오지 못하리라 하셨다 하였으나 세상을 창조할 때부터 그 일이 이루었느니라 제 칠일에 관하여는 어디 이렇게 일렀으되 하나님은 제 칠일에 그의 모든 일을 쉬셨다 하였으며 또 다시 거기 저희가 내 안식에 들어오지 못하리라 하였으니 그러면 거기 들어갈 자들이 남아 있거니와 복음 전함을 먼저 받은 자들은 순종치 아니함을 인하여 들어가지 못하였으므로

The "glad tidings of the kingdom" was prophesied of in the O.T. and was preached by the Lord Jesus when on earth. Matt. 4:23; Luke 4:43, etc.; and will be preached in the future. Matt. 24:14. Though this gospel was rejected by Israel at large, the Lord gathered around Him a little flock, who formed the nucleus of the church at Pentecost. Then Jesus Christ was preached and the forgiveness of sins through His death, "the gospel of the grace of God," and this was towards all mankind. Acts 20:24.

(마04:23;  예수께서 온 갈릴리에 두루 다니사 저희 회당에서 가르치시며 천국 복음을 전파하시며 백성 중에 모든 병과 모든 약한 것을 고치시니

(눅04:43, 예수께서 이르시되 내가 다른 동네에서도 하나님의 나라 복음을 전하여야 하리니 나는 이 일로 보내심을 입었노라 하시고

(마24:14. 이 천국 복음이 모든 민족에게 증거되기 위하여 온 세상에 전파되리니 그제야 끝이 오리라

(행20:24 나의 달려갈 길과 주 예수께 받은 사명 곧 하나님의 은혜의 복음 증거하는 일을 마치려 함에는 나의 생명을 조금도 귀한 것으로 여기지 아니하노라

To Paul was revealed "THE GOSPEL OF THE GLORY," that God has glorified Christ, and that His glory shines in the face of Him who put away the sins of believers. 2 Cor. 4:4; 1 Tim. 1:11. So peculiarly was this committed to Paul that he called it 'my gospel.' 2 Tim. 2:8. It embraced more than salvation, great as that is, for he was desirous of making known "the mystery of the gospel," which separates believers from the first man of the earth, and associates them with Christ glorified in heaven.

(고후04:4; 그 중에 이 세상 신이 믿지 아니하는 자들의 마음을 혼미케 하여 그리스도의 영광의 복음의 광채가 비취지 못하게 함이니 그리스도는 하나님의 형상이니라

(딤전01:11. 이 교훈은 내게 맡기신바 복되신 하나님의 영광의 복음을 좇음이니라

(딤후02:8.  나의 복음과 같이 다윗의 씨로 죽은 자 가운데서 다시 살으신 예수 그리스도를 기억하라

In the future there will be glad tidings for Israel when God's time is come to bless them. The messengers will publish peace and salvation, and say to Zion, "Thy God reigneth." Isa. 52:7. There will also be proclaimed THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL to the Gentiles, that which has been from the beginning, that the Seed of the woman should bruise the serpent's head. The testimony rendered by means of angelic power is, "Fear God, and give glory to him, for the hour of his judgement is come," with the injunction to worship the Creator. Rev. 14:6, 7.

(사52:7 좋은 소식을 가져오며 평화를 공포하며 복된 좋은 소식을 가져오며 구원을 공포하며 시온을 향하여 이르기를 네 하나님이 통치하신다 하는 자의 산을 넘는 발이 어찌 그리 아름다운고

(계14:6-7 또 보니 다른 천사가 공중에 날아가는데 땅에 거하는 자들 곧 여러 나라와 족속과 방언과 백성에게 전할 영원한 복음을 가졌더라 그가 큰 음성으로 가로되 하나님을 두려워하며 그에게 영광을 돌리라 이는 그의 심판하실 시간이 이르렀음이니 하늘과 땅과 바다와 물들의 근원을 만드신 이를 경배하라 하더라
