뜻:심판관

1) 라헬의 시녀 빌하가 낳은 야곱(Jacob)의 아들(창30:6).

이스라엘 12지파 - 르우벤, 시므온, 레위, 유다, 스불론, 잇사갈, 단, 갓, 아셀, 납달리, 요셉 (에브라임, 므낫세), 베냐민

2) 야곱이 축복시에 단은 길의 뱀이오 첩경의 독사라 하고(창49:17)
3) 시내산에서 계수함을 입 은 자가 6만여명(민01:39)

4) 모세의 축복을 받음(신33:22)
5) 일곱째로 기업을 받았다(수19:40-46).

6) 팔레스틴 남북의 경계를 말할때에 단에서부터 브엘세바까지라고 하였다(수 19:47), (사18:29).
7) 이 족속은 자치적 정신이 강하고 민첩하고 용감하여 항상 칭송을 받았다(창 49:16), (신33:22).

8) 계시록의 명단에는 이 지파의 이름이 빠졌으니

이것은 아마 장차 올적 그리스도가 이 지파에서 날듯하다

(계07:5-8).

▶ 단 Dan.

Fifth son of Jacob, and first of Bilhah, Rachel's maid. Gen. 30:6, etc. Little is recorded of him personally: only one son is mentioned in Gen. 46:23. 

(창30:6 라헬이 가로되 하나님이 내 억울함을 푸시려고 내 소리를 들으사 내게 아들을 주셨다 하고 이로 인하여 그 이름을 단이라 하였으며

The tribe of Dan was, however, numerous: at the Exodus there were 62,700 fighting men, exceeding all the tribes except Judah; and at the second numbering they had increased to 64,400. Num. 1:39; Num. 26:42, 43. 

(민01:39 단 지파의 계수함을 입은 자가 육만 이천 칠백명이었더라

(민26:42-43 42 단 자손은 그 종족대로 이러하니라 수함에게서 수함 가족이 났으니 이는 그들의 종족을 따른 단 가족들이라 43 수함 모든 가족의 계수함을 입은 자가 육만 사천 사백명이었더라

Yet when in the land the Amorites forced the children of Dan into the mountains: for they would not suffer them to come down to the valley. Judges 1:34. This showed great want of faith in the DANITES (as they are called in Judges 13:2; Judges 18:1, 11; 1 Chr. 12:35); and Deborah in her song said, 'Why did Dan remain in ships,' when the Lord's enemies were being destroyed?

(삿01:34 아모리 사람이 단 자손을 산지로 쫓아들이고 골짜기에 내려오기를 용납지 아니하고

(삿13:2 소라 땅에 단 지파의 가족중 마노아라 이름하는 자가 있더라 그 아내가 잉태하지 못하므로 생산치 못하더니

(삿18:1, 11 1 그 때에 이스라엘에 왕이 없었고 단 지파는 이 때에 거할 기업의 땅을 구하는 중이었으니 이는 그들이 이스라엘 지파 중에서 이때까지 기업의 땅 분배함을 얻지 못하였음이라 11 단 지파 가족 중 육백명이 병기를 띠고 소라와 에스다올에서 출발하여 

(대상12:35 단 자손 중에서 싸움을 잘하는 자가 이만 팔천 육백명이요

Their portion fell on the sea-coast between those of Manasseh and Judah. It was small in comparison with their numbers, which occasioned some going north and building the city of Dan, q.v. Dan was not conspicuous among the tribes, but Aholiab, who helped Bezaleel in the work of the tabernacle, was of the tribe, Ex. 31:6; and Samson also.

(출31:6 내가 또 단 지파 아히사막의 아들 오홀리압을 세워 그와 함께 하게 하며 무릇 지혜로운 마음이 있는 자에게 내가 지혜를 주어 그들로 내가 네게 명한 것을 다 만들게 할지니

When Jacob blessed his sons he said, "Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel. Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward." Gen. 49:16, 17. 

(창49:16-17 16 단은 이스라엘의 한 지파 같이 그 백성을 심판하리로다 17 단은 길의 뱀이요 첩경의 독사리로다 말굽을 물어서 그 탄 자로 뒤로 떨어지게 하리로다

This tribe was guilty of setting up very early in the land the idolatry, which continued until the people were carried into captivity. Judges 18:30, 31. One naturally associates 'the adder that biteth the heels' with the serpent that would bruise the heel of the seed of the woman. Gen. 3:15. It seems to suggest that the Antichrist will arise out of the tribe of Dan, and this indeed has been the judgement of Christians from the earliest times. 

(삿18:30-31 30 단 자손이 자기를 위하여 그 새긴 신상을 세웠고 모세의 손자 게르손의 아들 요나단과 그 자손은 단 지파의 제사장이 되어 이 백성이 사로잡히는 날까지 이르렀더라 31 하나님의 집이 실로에 있을 동안에 미가의 지은바 새긴 신상이 단 자손에게 있었더라

(창03:15 내가 너로 여자와 원수가 되게 하고 너의 후손도 여자의 후손과 원수가 되게 하리니 여자의 후손은 네 머리를 상하게 할 것이요 너는 그의 발꿈치를 상하게 할 것이니라 하시고 

Moses said, "Dan is a lion's whelp: he shall leap from Bashan," Deut. 33:22, which may be a prophecy that Dan would do the work of Satan: cf. Ps. 22:12, 13. This thought is confirmed by Dan's name being absent from 1 Chr. 2 - 8 (the book that records much of grace and blessing), and being omitted also from the list of tribes from each of which twelve thousand will be sealed in a future day. Rev. 7:3-8.

Still God's promises to the twelve tribes will be kept, and the tribe of Dan will have its portion in the land as prophesied in Ezek. 48:1, 2, 32.
