Parables Of Jesus Christ: The House Upon A Rock

Jesus Christ frequently taught those who followed Him as He travelled i.e. His followers not only obeyed Him, but also sometimes accompanied Him as He walked from one place to another. One day, while on His way to Capernaum, He warned that His "followers" must indeed (i.e. in deed) do what He said, not merely claim to be Christians. The warning included a prophecy of what is going to happen to those who do as they please in His Name.
"7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." (Matthew 7:21-23 KJV)
Then, the Messiah's parable of the house upon a rock.
"7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 7:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it." (Matthew 7:24-27 KJV)
"Why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?"
As quoted above, Matthew recorded the parable of the house upon a rock. Luke also recorded it, with additional teachings spoken at the time. The parable also referred to those who, in merely claiming to be Christian by doing as they please in Christ's Name, mislead others to do the same. His famous "blind leading the blind" (i.e. the blind misleading the blind) is a part of the same parable. "The disciple is not above his master" (verse 40 below) also refers to those who teach "Christianity" while making Christ's actual teachings subordinate or "done away."
The Ten Commandments
"6:39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch? 6:40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master." (Luke 6:39-40 KJV)
The "bearing good fruit" was also a part of the same parable.
"6:43 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 6:44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes. 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?" (Luke 6:43-46 KJV)
Then, as recorded by Luke, the Messiah's parable of the house upon a rock:
"6:47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will show you to whom he is like: 6:48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
6:49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great." (Luke 6:47-49 KJV)
