Revelation 05: The Messiah's Atonement Of Passover At God's Throne

"By His own blood He entered in once into the Holy Place, having obtained eternal redemption for us ... Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for Thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by Thy Blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the Earth"

Most Christian-professing people readily-recognize that the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ was the fulfillment of the Passover lamb prophetic observance (see The Day That The LORD Was Crucified and The Days Of Passover: Why Observe The True Christian Holy Days?).

"1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." (John 1:29 KJV)

Even the exact hour timing of the Sacrifice matched the original Passover instructions. The Passover lamb was to be sacrificed on Nisan 14 "between the two evenings" (i.e. between high noon and sunset - the sixth (12 noon) and twelfth hour (6 pm) of daylight, with the ninth hour (3 pm) being the customary time), as stated in the actual Hebrew. Most translations use the Hebrew-ignoring, unclear and confusing term "in the evening" or at "sunset."

It was during those very same hours, as actually written in the original Hebrew, that the Messiah died on the Cross.

"12:5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats: 12:6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening ["between the two evenings" was actually written in the Hebrew of the Holy Scriptures]." (Exodus 12:5-6 KJV)

"23:44 And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. 23:45 And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. 23:46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost." (Luke 23:44-46 KJV)

The Messiah's Sacrifice was a making of the payment for the sins of all repentant people (the lake of fire will be the fate of all arrogant rebels who refuse to repent; see Christ Died For Repentant Sinners). The delivery of the payment however was yet to be made. That was fulfilled by another true Christian Holy Day - the Day of Atonement (see the Fact Finder question below to understand the vital connection between Passover and the Day of Atonement).

The apostle John was given to see the Messiah's deliverance of His Passover Blood to the Throne of God to fulfill the Day of Atonement - as prophesied by the Levite High Priest entering the Most Holy Place of the Tabernacle or Temple, once per year, on the Day of Atonement.

"5:1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. 5:2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? 5:3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. 5:4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. 5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

5:6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. 5:7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne. 5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. 5:9 And they sung a new song, saying,

Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

5:11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; 5:12 Saying with a loud voice,

Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

5:13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying,

Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

5:14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever." (Revelation 5:1-14 KJV)
