Song Of Solomon 06: The City Lights

"Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun"
All people of ancient times experienced the reason for the calendar that the LORD created (see The LORD God Our Saviour and The Christian Ten Commandments). While many later devised calendars for themselves, all remained based upon the sun, for days and years, and the moon, for months (see also What Can You See In The Firmament Of The Heavens?).
"1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: 1:15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. 1:16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. 1:17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth" (Genesis 1:14-17 KJV)
The latest-version Roman calendar is used by much of the world today, but the calendar of the early Romans was close to the nature that the LORD provided. The Roman year began in spring, as it did for everyone else, until they shifted it to mid-winter for their "rising sun" festival (see Constantine's Crusades In History And Prophecy). The names of some of the Roman months (apart from those named after the Roman emperors Julius Caesar (July) and Caesar Augustus (August) are continuing proof of the change e.g. September (the Latin prefix "sept" means seventh) had been the seventh month, but became the ninth month. So too October ("oct" means eighth) went from the eighth month to the tenth month and December ("dec" means tenth) went from the tenth month to the twelfth month.
As well, in order to accommodate their Creation-ignoring calendar, Roman months arbitrarily begin at any time of the lunar month, while the LORD's monthly calendar always begins at New Moon. Roman calendar months can have the New Moon at any time of their month, or even two New Moons in a single Roman month because the Roman month system disregards the actual length of a lunar month (see the Fact Finder question below).
True Biblical history and prophecy are based upon the LORD's true calendar. Passover, which is observed from the 14th (i.e. the middle of the lunar month) of the first month, Nisan, in the spring, always occurs at the time of the Full Moon (see The Passover Moon At Midnight).
So too, the autumn Feast of Tabernacles (see The Christian Feast Of Tabernacles In History and Prophecy) is observed from the 15th of the seventh month (i.e. the middle of the month), which is always at the time of the Full Moon. The practical purposes, apart from their historic and Messianic intent, is that the Israelites had "city lights," day and night, for the Exodus. The Full Moon (that always rises at sunset and is visible all night; see The New Moon Calendar) also provided the Israelites (and everyone who observes the Feast of Tabernacles in a tent in the present age) with natural light all night.
The coming of the Kingdom of God (see What Gospel Did Jesus Preach?) will see the ultimate City Lights in the New Jerusalem, "for the Glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the Light thereof." Notice also that the only Biblical mention of the famous "pearly gates" is at that time, on Earth.
"21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." (Revelation 21:2-4 KJV)
"21:21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. 21:24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. 21:25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. 21:26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life." (Revelation 21:21-27 KJV)
The people of ancient Jerusalem, including as recorded in Song of Solomon, knew the physical lights that provided light for the city as they "looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun."
"6:1 Whither is thy beloved gone, O thou fairest among women? whither is thy beloved turned aside? that we may seek him with thee.
6:2 My beloved is gone down into his garden, to the beds of spices, to feed in the gardens, and to gather lilies. 6:3 I am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine: he feedeth among the lilies. 6:4 Thou art beautiful, O my love, as Tirzah, comely as Jerusalem, terrible as an army with banners. 6:5 Turn away thine eyes from me, for they have overcome me: thy hair is as a flock of goats that appear from Gilead. 6:6 Thy teeth are as a flock of sheep which go up from the washing, whereof every one beareth twins, and there is not one barren among them. 6:7 As a piece of a pomegranate are thy temples within thy locks. 6:8 There are threescore queens, and fourscore concubines, and virgins without number. 6:9 My dove, my undefiled is but one; she is the only one of her mother, she is the choice one of her that bare her. The daughters saw her, and blessed her; yea, the queens and the concubines, and they praised her.
6:10 Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners?
6:11 I went down into the garden of nuts to see the fruits of the valley, and to see whether the vine flourished, and the pomegranates budded. 6:12 Or ever I was aware, my soul made me like the chariots of Amminadib.
6:13 Return, return, O Shulamite; return, return, that we may look upon thee. What will ye see in the Shulamite? As it were the company of two armies." (Song Of Solomon 6:1-13 KJV)
