Q. 33. What is justification?

A. Justification is an act of God’s free grace,[91] wherein he pardoneth all our sins,[92] and accepteth us as righteous in His sight,[93] only for the righteousness of Christ imputed to us,[94] and received by faith alone.[95]


[91] Romans 3:24. Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. (롬3:24그리스도 예수 안에 있는 구속으로 말미암아 하나님의 은혜로 값 없이 의롭다 하심을 얻은 자 되었느니라 

[92] Romans 4:6-8. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. (롬4:6-8 일한 것이 없이 하나님께 의로 여기심을 받는 사람의 행복에 대하여 다윗의 말한바 그 불법을 사하심을 받고 그 죄를 가리우심을 받는 자는 복이 있고 주께서 그 죄를 인정치 아니하실 사람은 복이 있도다 함과 같으니라  

2 Corinthians 5:19. To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. (고후5:19 이는 하나님께서 그리스도 안에 계시사 세상을 자기와 화목하게 하시며 저희의 죄를 저희에게 돌리지 아니하시고 화목하게 하는 말씀을 우리에게 부탁하셨느니라  

[93] 2 Corinthians 5:21. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (고후5:21 하나님이 죄를 알지도 못하신 자로 우리를 대신하여 죄를 삼으신 것은 우리로 하여금 저의 안에서 하나님의 의가 되게 하려 하심이니라 

[94] Romans 4:6, 11. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works.... And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also: (롬4:6,11 일하는 자에게는 그 삯을 은혜로 여기지 아니하고 빚으로 여기거니와,  저가 할례의 표를 받은 것은 무할례시에 믿음으로 된 의를 인친 것이니 이는 무할례자로서 믿는 모든 자의 조상이 되어 저희로 의로 여기심을 얻게 하려 하심이라 

Romans 5:19. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. (롬5:19한 사람의 순종치 아니함으로 많은 사람이 죄인 된것 같이 한 사람의 순종하심으로 많은 사람이 의인이 되리라 

[95] Galatians 2:16. Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.(갈2:16 사람이 의롭게 되는 것은 율법의 행위에서 난 것이 아니요 오직 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 말미암는줄 아는고로 우리도 그리스도 예수를 믿나니 이는 우리가 율법의 행위에서 아니고 그리스도를 믿음으로서 의롭다 함을 얻으려 함이라 율법의 행위로서는 의롭다 함을 얻을 육체가 없느니라

Philippians 3:9. And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith. (빌3:9  그 안에서 발견되려 함이니 내가 가진 의는 율법에서 난 것이 아니요 오직 그리스도를 믿음으로 말미암은 것이니 곧 믿음으로 하나님께로서 난 의라


문33. 의롭다 하심이 무엇인가 ?

답. 의롭다 히심은 하나님이 값없는 은혜로 정하신 것인데, 저가 우리 모든 죄를 사유하시고, 그 앞에서 우리를 옳게 여겨 받으시는 것이니, 이는 다만 그리스도의 의를 우리에게 돌려 주심인데, 우리는 오직 믿음만으로 받은 것이다.

      (1) 값 없는 은혜 (롬 3:22 , 엡 1:7 )

      (2) 사죄받음 (행 10:43 )

      (3) 옳게여겨 받으심 (고후 5:19 )

      (4) 그리스도의 의를 우리에게 붙이심 (롬 3:26 , 5:19-21 )

      (5) 이것은 믿음으로 됨 (롬 4:5 , 5:1 )
