119B. The Two Sons
Then Jesus asked those who were standing nearby:
Tell me what you think of this story:
A man had two sons. He told the first son to go work all day in the vineyard. The son said:
I will not! But afterwards he changed his mind and spent the day working in the vineyard.
The man also told his second son to go and work in the vineyard. The son said that he would, but he didn’t.
Which one of these two did the will of the father?
They answered him:
The first.
Jesus said to them:
The truth is that the tax collectors and the harlots will go into the kingdom rather then you.
John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him. Even when you saw his authority you did not repent and believe.
