▶ 안디바드리(Antipatris)

뜻: 아비같이 상대하라

예루살렘에서 가이사랴까지의 군용 도로 중간에 있는 곳으로 가이샤랴 남쪽 약 40km 지점
 유대인들이 바울을 죽이고자 하매 로마병이 바울을 데리고 밤에 가이사랴로 갈 때에 이곳을 통과하였다(행23:31).

이성은 헤롯이 건설하고, 그 부친 안디바터를 기념하기 위하여 이 땅이름을 삼은 것인데 지금은 성터만 남아있다.


▶ 안디바드리 Antipatris. [Antipat'ris]. 


The town to which Paul was taken in the night from Jerusalem on his way to Caesarea. Acts 23:31. It was built by Herod the Great in a well-watered spot surrounded by a wood, and named after his father. At Ras el-Ain, are ruins which are held to mark the spot. This is 5 or 6 miles nearer Jerusalem than Kefr Saba, which some associate with Antipatris, because Josephus says it was called Kapharsaba before its name was altered by Herod. The former place being nearer to Jerusalem removes the difficulty that some have felt as to the distance of Antipatris being too far to reach in a night ; this reduces it to about 36 miles, and it would be even less by cross roads.
