▶ 띠 Girdle. An article of dress always worn in the East, both by the rich and the poor, and needed there because of their flowing robes. For the poor they were of the plainest material, but for the rich they were more or less costly, and were highly ornamented. They were thus suitable articles for presents. 1 Sam. 18:4; 2 Sam. 18:11. John the Baptist wore a leathern girdle, or one of skin. Matt. 3:4; Mark 1:6: cf. 2 Kings 1:8. In the Revelation the Lord has on a golden girdle, and the seven angels who come out of the temple have the same. Rev. 1:13; Rev. 15:6. The priests wore girdles, and one for Aaron was a 'linen' girdle, Lev. 16:4, and with the breastplate was the CURIOUS (i.e. embroidered) GIRDLE of the ephod, made of gold, blue, purple, scarlet, and fine-twined linen. 비유를 사용하신 목적 예수께서 비유를 사용하신 목적은 마13:10-15을 통해서 살펴볼 수 있다. 예수의 제자들의 질문에 대한 대답은 하나님 나라의 비밀, 즉 진리를 지상의 이야기나 은유적 표현을 통해 인생들에게 가르치기 위함이 분명하다. 그런데 문제는 예수께서 비유로 말씀하신 목적이 하나님나라의 비밀을 감추기 위한 것인가 ? 아니면 드러내기 위한 것인가 ? 하는 것이다. 그러므로 두 가지 측면에서 살펴보고자 한다. A. 계시적 효과 예수께서 비유로 가르치신 목적은 계시적 효과에 있다고 하겠다. 예수의 비유는 비유를 들은 모 든 사람들에게 진리를 가르치신 후에 그 진리를 더욱 명확하게 밝히기 위해서 예증으로 비유를 사용하신 것을 알 수 있다. 하나님께서는 무한하시기에 인간을 유한한 정신에 하나님나라의 장엄 한 계시를 전달하기 위해서는 인간들에게 친근한 것들로 낮아져서 전해야 하셨다. B.은폐적 효과 예수의 비유는 비유를 계시하고자 하는 목적에 의해 은폐적 효과를 가지셨던 것을 알 수 있다. 이 효과에 대해 가장 잘 밝혀 주는 부분은 "마13장,막 4장"이다. 사실 예수님께서는 마13장,막4장 이전에도 비유를 사용하였으나 여기서부터는 더이상 가르침의 예증이 아닌 가르침 그 자체이며, 다른 교수 방법을 사용치 않고 비유로만 가르치셨던 이유는 예수께서 은폐를 의도하셨기 때문이 다. 이 의도는 막 4:12에 잘 드러난다. (마 5:25-26) Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court.
