Romans 05: The First Men From Earth

"So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them ... And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit"

The Hebrew word pronounced in English as aw-dawm (from which "Adam" originated) means man, as a species, male and female. Notice that Eve was as much referred to as "man" (aw-dawm) as "Adam" was (see Adam and Adamah). The Creation of physical humans, and the potential salvation thereafter, is not a matter of gender - it's solely judged upon true repentance and obedience to the LORD (see The Doers Of The Law and When Did John The Baptist And The Messiah Rebuke The Apostle Paul?).

"1:26 And God said, Let us make man [i.e. aw-dawm] in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 1:27 So God created man [i.e. aw-dawm] in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." (Genesis 1:26-27 KJV)

"3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." (Galatians 3:26-29 KJV)

The first aw-dawm was created from the Earth (see the Fact Finder question below to understand what "Earth" means). The second aw-dawm was created from the "Earth" of the first Adam. All aw-dawm have been, and are, sustained from the Earth (food and water) until such time that they return to the Earth from which they came - while awaiting, as we will read, their re-emergence from the Earth (see also The Biology Of The Resurrection and Life From The Dust - Past And Future).

"2:6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." (Genesis 2:6-7 KJV)

"12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it." (Ecclesiastes 12:7 KJV)

It was "the LORD God" Who was sent to do the Work of Creation. Later, it was "the LORD God" Who was born as Jesus of Nazareth (see The Identity Of The LORD God and The LORD God Our Saviour).

"1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 1:19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven." (Colossians 1:12-20 KJV)

The LORD God, Who was born as the Messiah, is the "Earth link" between the physical life of humanity and the potential eternal life that awaits them (see Who Can Be Saved? and What Was The Lesson Of John 3:16?).

"3:14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 3:15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 3:18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 3:19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God." (Ephesians 3:14-19 KJV)

The Messiah prophesied how He too would be taken from the Earth to eternal life.

"12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." (Matthew 12:40 KJV)

The fulfillment of the Messiah's resurrection was the means by which repentant humans can also become eternal, but was also in itself a prophecy of how humans can once again become alive from the Earth (see The Harvests Of Salvation).

"15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept [see What Does The Bible Really Say About Your Soul?]." (1 Corinthians 15:20 KJV)

"15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming." (1 Corinthians 15:23 KJV)

The Christian life is a life of acceptance of the terms of conditions of Salvation. The Messiah died for repentant sinners (see Christ Died For Repentant Sinners).

"5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 5:2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 5:3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 5:4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope: 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 5:7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 5:11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement." (Romans 5:1-11 KJV)

The LORD created all men ("aw-dawm" - male and female). The LORD further provides the means to become a child of God too ("... I ascend unto My Father, and your Father; and to My God, and your God" John 20:17 KJV).

"5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: 5:13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

5:15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. 5:16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. 5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

5:20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: 5:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 5:12-21 KJV)
