Isaiah 18: What Happens When The Trumpet Sounds?

"All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the Earth, see ye, when He lifteth up an ensign on the mountains; and when He bloweth a trumpet, hear ye"

When the LORD God, Who was later born as Jesus Christ (see The LORD God Our Saviour), came down upon Mount Sinai to deliver His Commandments (see The Christian Ten Commandments) to the people of Israel (all truly-righteous people throughout the ages before them already had the Ten Commandments given to them; see When Did The Ten Commandments Begin? and Which Way Is Right And Left?), He did so at the sound of a great, miraculous trumpet.

"19:16 And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled.

19:17 And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount. 19:18 And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly. 19:19 And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.

19:20 And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount; and Moses went up." (Exodus 19:16-20 KJV)

On the day of His return, the great sound of a miraculous trumpet will sound all around the world as the first resurrection is happening (see the Fact Finder question below). The Messiah's famous "Olivet Prophecy" (named after the Mount of Olives; see Zechariah: He Shall Stand Upon The Mount Of Olives) includes the sound of that trumpet.

"24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." (Matthew 24:29-31 KJV)

The apostles were all made aware of how and when salvation will happen. The first resurrection will be accompanied by the sound of a great trumpet. As written by the apostle Paul, "for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed" (see The Harvests Of Salvation) because "flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God" (see What Was The Lesson Of John 3:16?).

"15:42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 15:43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 15:44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body.

There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 15:46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. 15:47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. 15:48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. 15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory." (1 Corinthians 15:42-54 KJV)

The same prophecy is stated in the Scriptures to all nations. Notice here, in Isaiah's prophecy to the nations of the Nile region (Egypt, Ethiopia) that the day will come when "All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when he lifteth up an ensign on the mountains; and when he bloweth a trumpet, hear ye."

"18:1 Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia: 18:2 That sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon the waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation scattered and peeled, to a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden down, whose land the rivers have spoiled!

18:3 All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when he lifteth up an ensign on the mountains; and when he bloweth a trumpet, hear ye. 18:4 For so the LORD said unto me, I will take my rest, and I will consider in my dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs, and like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest. 18:5 For afore the harvest, when the bud is perfect, and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall both cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks, and take away and cut down the branches. 18:6 They shall be left together unto the fowls of the mountains, and to the beasts of the earth: and the fowls shall summer upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.

18:7 In that time shall the present be brought unto the LORD of hosts of a people scattered and peeled, and from a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden under foot, whose land the rivers have spoiled, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the mount Zion." (Isaiah 18:1-7 KJV)

Fact Finder: What true Christian Holy Day (in contrast to the man-made "Christian" holidays that ignore or contradict what the Messiah actually did and said) is an observance of the prophecies involving the trumpet on the day of Christ's return?
