Job 40: Meet Your Maker

"Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker!"
The English word "maker," which originated from the Anglo-Saxon (the Anglos were a tribe of the Saxons; Saxony was in Germany - the reason that English and German originated from the same people) word machen, means one who produces or creates something.
"Make" and "Maker" are used to translate a number of Biblical Hebrew words, including:
The Hebrew word, pronounced aw-saw, which is found in the famous "And God said, Let us make man in our image" of Genesis 1:26.
The Hebrew word, pronounced naw-thawn, which means to give, or make available
The Hebrew word, pronounced seem, which means to put in place
The Hebrew word, pronounced kaw-rawth, which means to tear down i.e. to make desolate, or to destroy
The LORD (Who was and is Jesus Christ - see Genesis 1: In The Beginning Was The Word and The Kingdom Of The LORD God) is the Creator (see By Him Were All Things Created), but He is also the Maker - of life for those who obey Him, and of destruction for those who choose to be worthless rebels and traitors to the LORD God (see The Kingdom Of The LORD God).
The LORD is the Maker of all life (see also What Makes Physical Life Possible?).
"1:20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. 1:21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 1:22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. 1:23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
1:24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. 1:25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth." (Genesis 1:20-28 KJV)
The LORD is the Maker of good for those who obey Him (see Christ Died For Repentant Sinners and Why Call Me, Lord, Lord, and Do Not The Things Which I Say?).
"36:3 I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker." (Job 36:3 KJV)
"54:5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called." (Isaiah 54:5 KJV)
"11:8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. 11:9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: 11:10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God." (Hebrews 11:8-10 KJV)
The LORD is also the Maker of destruction for those who have chosen to deserve it (see What Happens After The Messiah Returns?).
"32:22 For I know not to give flattering titles; in so doing my maker would soon take me away." (Job 32:22 KJV)
"17:4 A wicked doer giveth heed to false lips; and a liar giveth ear to a naughty tongue. 17:5 Whoso mocketh the poor reproacheth his Maker: and he that is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished." (Proverbs 17:4-5 KJV)
"45:9 Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?" (Isaiah 45:9 KJV)
The LORD provided many lessons to righteous Job (see What Did The LORD Teach About How To Pray?, The First Teacher, Red Sky At Night, Sailor's Delight, What Are The Hunter and The Seven Sisters Doing In Heaven? and What Did The LORD Say About Animals?). Just before the LORD restored Job to more than he had before his tribulation (see What Did Satan Accuse The LORD Of Doing?, How Did The Devil Challenge Job To Commit A Satan? and What Did Satan Do To Job's Soul?), He gave him a lesson in how the LORD is the Maker of all things.
"40:1 Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,
40:2 Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
40:3 Then Job answered the LORD, and said, 40:4 Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth. 40:5 Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.
40:6 Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
40:7 Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
40:8 Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous? 40:9 Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him? 40:10 Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty. 40:11 Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him. 40:12 Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place. 40:13 Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret. 40:14 Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.
40:15 Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox. 40:16 Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly. 40:17 He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together. 40:18 His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron. 40:19 He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him. 40:20 Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play. 40:21 He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens. 40:22 The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about. 40:23 Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth. 40:24 He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares." (Job 40:1-24 KJV)
