Q. 21. Who is the Redeemer of God’s elect?

A. The only Redeemer of God’s elect is the Lord Jesus Christ,[55] who, being the eternal Son of God,[56] became man,[57] and so was, and continueth to be, God and man in two distinct natures, and one person, forever.[58]


[55] John 14:6. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (요14:6 예수께서 가라사대 내가 곧 길이요 진리요 생명이니 나로 말미암지 않고는 아버지께로 올 자가 없느니라  

Acts 4:12. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (행4:12 다른이로서는 구원을 얻을 수 없나니 천하 인간에 구원을 얻을만한 다른 이름을 우리에게 주신 일이 없음이니라 하였더라

1 Timothy 2:5-6. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. (딤전2:5-6 하나님은 한 분이시요 또 하나님과 사람 사이에 중보도 한 분이시니 곧 사람이신 그리스도 예수라 그가 모든 사람을 위하여 자기를 속전으로 주셨으니 기약이 이르면 증거할 것이라 

[56] Psalm 2:7. I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. (시2:7 내가 영을 전하노라 여호와께서 내게 이르시되 너는 내 아들이라 오늘날 내가 너를 낳았도다

Matthew 3:17. And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. (마3:17하늘로서 소리가 있어 말씀하시되 이는 내 사랑하는 아들이요 내 기뻐하는 자라 하시니라 

Matthew 17:5. While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. (마17:5 말할 때에 홀연히 빛난 구름이 저희를 덮으며 구름 속에서 소리가 나서 가로되 이는 내 사랑하는 아들이요 내 기뻐하는 자니 너희는 저의 말을 들으라 하는지라  

John 1:18. No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. (요1:18 본래 하나님을 본 사람이 없으되 아버지 품속에 있는 독생하신 하나님이 나타내셨느니라 

[57] Isaiah 9:6. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (사9:6 이는 한 아기가 우리에게 났고 한 아들을 우리에게 주신바 되었는데 그 어깨에는 정사를 메었고 그 이름은 기묘자라, 모사라, 전능하신 하나님이라, 영존하시는 아버지라, 평강의 왕이라 할것임이라  

Matthew 1:23. Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. (마1:23보라 처녀가 잉태하여 아들을 낳을 것이요 그 이름은 임마누엘이라 하리라 하셨으니 이를 번역한즉 하나님이 우리와 함께 계시다 함이라  

John 1:14. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (요 1:14 말씀이 육신이 되어 우리 가운데 거하시매 우리가 그 영광을 보니 아버지의 독생자의 영광이요 은혜와 진리가 충만하더라  

Galatians 4:4. But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law (갈4:4  때가 차매 하나님이 그 아들을 보내사 여자에게서 나게 하시고 율법 아래 나게 하신 것은 

[58] Acts 1:11. Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. (행1:11 가로되 갈릴리 사람들아 어찌하여 서서 하늘을 쳐다 보느냐 너희 가운데서 하늘로 올리우신 이 예수는 하늘로 가심을 본 그대로 오시리라 하였느니라

Hebrews 7:24-25. But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. (히7:24-25 예수는 영원히 계시므로 그 제사 직분도 갈리지 아니하나니 그러므로 자기를 힘입어 하나님께 나아가는 자들을 온전히 구원하실 수 있으니 이는 그가 항상 살아서 저희를 위하여 간구하심이니라 


문21. 하나님의 선택하신 자의 구속자가 누구신가 ?

답. 하나님의 선택하신 자의 구속자는 다만 주 예수 그리스도 뿐이신데, 그는 하나님의 영원한 아들로서 사람이 되셨으니, 그 후로 한 위에 특수한 두 가지 성품이 있어 영원토록 하나님이시요, 사람이시다.

      (1) 하나님의 영원하신 아들 예수 (요 1:1,14 )

      (2) 사람되신 분 (딤전 2:5 )

      (3) 두가지 성품

        ① 영원한 하나님 (롬 9:5 )

        ② 참되신 사람 (골 2:9 , 딤전 2:5 , 히 7:24 )
