Q. 16. Did all mankind fall in Adam’s first transgression?

A. The covenant being made with Adam,[40] not only for himself, but for his posterity; all mankind, descending from him by ordinary generation, sinned in him, and fell with him, in his first transgression.[41]


[40] Genesis 2:16-17. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. (창2:16-17 여호와 하나님이 그 사람에게 명하여 가라사대 동산 각종 나무의 실과는 네가 임의로 먹되 선악을 알게하는 나무의 실과는 먹지 말라 네가 먹는 날에는 정녕 죽으리라 하시니라

James 2:10. For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. (약2:10 누구든지 온 율법을 지키다가 그 하나에 거치면 모두 범한 자가 되나니

[41] Romans 5:12-21. Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. (롬5:12-21 이러므로 한 사람으로 말미암아 죄가 세상에 들어오고 죄로 말미암아 사망이 왔나니 이와 같이 모든 사람이 죄를 지었으므로 사망이 모든 사람에게 이르렀느니라 죄가 율법 있기 전에도 세상에 있었으나 율법이 없을 때에는 죄를 죄로 여기지 아니하느니라 그러나 아담으로부터 모세까지 아담의 범죄와 같은 죄를 짓지 아니한 자들 위에도 사망이 왕노릇하였나니 아담은 오실 자의 표상이라 그러나 이 은사는 그 범죄와 같지 아니하니 곧 한 사람의 범죄를 인하여 많은 사람이 죽었은즉 더욱 하나님의 은혜와 또는 한 사람 예수 그리스도의 은혜로 말미암은 선물이 많은 사람에게 넘쳤으리라 또 이 선물은 범죄한 한 사람으로 말미암은 것과 같지 아니하니 심판은 한 사람을 인하여 정죄에 이르렀으나 은사는 많은 범죄를 인하여 의롭다 하심에 이름이니라 한 사람의 범죄를 인하여 사망이 그 한 사람으로 말미암아 왕노릇 하였은즉 더욱 은혜와 의의 선물을 넘치게 받는 자들이 한 분 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 생명 안에서 왕노릇 하리로다 그런즉 한 범죄로 많은 사람이 정죄에 이른것 같이 의의 한 행동으로 말미암아 많은 사람이 의롭다 하심을 받아 생명에 이르렀느니라 한 사람의 순종치 아니함으로 많은 사람이 죄인 된것 같이 한 사람의 순종하심으로 많은 사람이 의인이 되리라 율법이 가입한 것은 범죄를 더하게 하려 함이라 그러나 죄가 더한 곳에 은혜가 더욱 넘쳤나니 이는 죄가 사망 안에서 왕노릇 한 것 같이 은혜도 또한 의로 말미암아 왕노릇 하여 우리 주 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 영생에 이르게 하려 함이니라

1 Corinthians 15:22. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. (고전15:22 아담 안에서 모든 사람이 죽은것 같이 그리스도 안에서 모든 사람이 삶을 얻으리라


문16. 모든 인종은 아담의 첫 범죄 중에 타락하였는가 ?

답. 아담으로 더불어 언약을 세운 것은 저만 위하여 하신 것이 아니요, 그 후 자손까지 위하여  하신 것이므로 그로부터 보통 생육법으로 출생하는 인종은 모두 그의 안에 있어서 첫 범죄에 참여하여 그와 함께 타락하였다.

      (1) 보통 생육법으로 출생한 인간은 다 범죄함 (시 51:5 , 롬 5:12-14 )

      (2) 아담 안에서 범죄한 인간 (고전 15:21,22 )
