Q. 11. What are God’s works of providence?
A. God’s works of providence are, his most holy,[30] wise,[31] and powerful[32] preserving[33] and governing[34] all his creatures, and all their actions.[35]
[30] Psalm 145:17. The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works. (시145:17 여호와께서는 그 모든 행위에 의로우시며 그 모든 행사에 은혜로우시도다
[31] Psalm 104:24. O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches. (시104:24 여호와여 주의 하신 일이 어찌 그리 많은지요 주께서 지혜로 저희를 다 지으셨으니 주의 부요가 땅에 가득하니이다
[32] Hebrews 1:3. Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high (히1:3 이는 하나님의 영광의 광채시요 그 본체의 형상이시라 그의 능력의 말씀으로 만물을 붙드시며 죄를 정결케 하는 일을 하시고 높은 곳에 계신 위엄의 우편에 앉으셨느니라
[33] Nehemiah 9:6. Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee. (느9:6 오직 주는 여호와시라 하늘과 하늘들의 하늘과 일월 성신과 땅과 땅 위의 만물과 바다와 그 가운데 모든 것을 지으시고 다 보존하시오니 모든 천군이 주께 경배하나이다
[34] Ephesians 1:19-22. And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church (엡1:19-22 그의 힘의 강력으로 역사하심을 따라 믿는 우리에게 베푸신 능력의 지극히 크심이 어떤 것을 너희로 알게 하시기를 구하노라 그 능력이 그리스도 안에서 역사하사 죽은 자들 가운데서 다시 살리시고 하늘에서 자기의 오른편에 앉히사 모든 정사와 권세와 능력과 주관하는 자와 이 세상뿐 아니라 오는 세상에 일컫는 모든 이름 위에 뛰어나게 하시고 또 만물을 그 발 아래 복종하게 하시고 그를 만물 위에 교회의 머리로 주셨느니라
[35] Psalm 36:6. Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast. (시36:6 주의 의는 하나님의 산들과 같고 주의 판단은 큰 바다와 일반이라 여호와여 주는 사람과 짐승을 보호하시나이다
Proverbs 16:33. The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD. (잠16:33 사람이 제비는 뽑으나 일을 작정하기는 여호와께 있느니라
Matthew 10:30. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. (마10:30 너희에게는 머리털까지 다 세신바 되었나니
문11. 하나님의 섭리하시는 일이 무엇인가 ?
답. 하나님의 섭리하시는 일은 지극히 거룩함과 지혜와 권능으로써 모든 창조물과 모든 행동을 보존하시며 치리하시는 일이다.
(1) 모든 창조물과 행동을 보존하심 (시 104:24 , 145:9 , 마 10:29 ,사 28:29 , 시 145:17 , 히 1:3 )
(2) 통치하심 (시 103:19 , 계 11:17,18 )
