"사람에게 먹히는 사자에게 복이 있을지니
(깨달은 스승의 말씀에 따라 세속적인 욕망의 극복해 나가는 사람)
이는 그 사자가 사람이 됨이라.
(그 스승이 제자의 욕망을 순수한 에너지로 변형시킴)
사자에게 잡아먹히는 사람(세속의 욕망에 집착해 빠져있는 사람)은
그 명예가 더럽혀질지니
이는 그 사자가 아직 사람으로 행세하고 있음이라.
(욕망에 사로잡힌 인간은 짐승이 사람의 탈을 쓰고
살아가는 것과 같으니라.)
