Q. 100. What doth the preface of the Lord’s Prayer teach us?

A. The preface of the Lord’s Prayer, which is, Our Father which art in heaven, teacheth us to draw near to God with all holy reverence[207] and confidence,[208] as children to a father,[209] able and ready to help us;[210] and that we should pray with and for others.[211]


[207] Psalm 95:6. O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker. (시95:6 오라 우리가 굽혀 경배하며 우리를 지으신 여호와 앞에 무릎을 꿇자 

[208] Ephesians 3:12. In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. (엡3:12 우리가 그 안에서 그를 믿음으로 말미암아 담대함과 하나님께 당당히 나아감을 얻느니라

[209] Matthew 7:9-11. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? (마7:9-11  너희 중에 누가 아들이 떡을 달라 하면 돌을 주며 생선을 달라 하면 뱀을 줄 사람이 있겠느냐 너희가 악한 자라도 좋은 것으로 자식에게 줄줄 알거든 하물며 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께서 구하는 자에게 좋은 것으로 주시지 않겠느냐

Cf. Luke 11:11-13. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? (눅11:11-13 너희 중에 아비된 자 누가 아들이 생선을 달라 하면 생선 대신에 뱀을 주며 알을 달라 하면 전갈을 주겠느냐 너희가 악할찌라도 좋은 것을 자식에게 줄줄 알거든 하물며 너희 천부께서 구하는 자에게 성령을 주시지 않겠느냐 하시니라 

Romans 8:15. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. (롬8:15   너희는 다시 무서워하는 종의 영을 받지 아니하였고 양자의 영을 받았으므로 아바 아버지라 부르짖느니라 

[210] Ephesians 3:20. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us (엡3:20 우리 가운데서 역사하시는 능력대로 우리의 온갖 구하는 것이나 생각하는 것에 더 넘치도록 능히 하실 이에게 

[211] Ephesians 6:18. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; (엡6:18 모든 기도와 간구로 하되 무시로 성령 안에서 기도하고 이를 위하여 깨어 구하기를 항상 힘쓰며 여러 성도를 위하여 구하고 

1 Timothy 2:1-2. I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. (딤전2:1-2  그러므로 내가 첫째로 권하노니 모든 사람을 위하여 간구와 기도와 도고와 감사를 하되 임금들과 높은 지위에 있는 모든 사람을 위하여 하라 이는 우리가 모든 경건과 단정한 중에 고요하고 평안한 생활을 하려 함이니라


문100. 주기도문의 첫 말씀이 우리에게 무엇을 교훈하는가 ?

답. 주기도문의 첫 말씀은 곧 하늘에 계신 우리 아버지여 한 것이니, 이니 자식이 그 능하고 보호하시기를 예비한 아버지에게 가는 것과 같이, 우리가 모든 거룩하게 공경하는 뜻과 든든한 마음으로 하나님께 가까이 오는 것을 가르치고, 또 우리가 다른 사람으로 더불어 기도하고 다른 사람을 위하여 기도하라 가르친 것이다.

      (1) 하늘에 계신 (신성 ) (사 47:15 )

      (2) 우리 아버지 (인류의 한 형제 관계 ) (눅 15:20 )

      (3) 거룩하고 공경하는 의미로 든든히 의지할 것 (사 43:1 )

      (4) 인격적으로 경배할 것 (말 1:6 )

      (5) 타인을 위하여 기도할 것을 교훈한다 (스 6:10 , 눅 10:5 , 딤전 2:1,2 )
